110 Cathedral Street, Annapolis MD
As I shot this session, I had that bittersweet feeling in my chest — the kind that only comes when you know something is ending, even if it’s ending well.
This session with this young couple was the last I’ll take in my studio — unless someone else sneaks in to book before I pack it all up at the end of June. And honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to close this chapter.
She walked in with her fiery eyes, gorgeous smile & long brown hair wearing light-wash jeans, a black cami bra, and a crisp white button-down — the kind of effortless look that photographs like poetry. He kept it simple too: black shirt + jeans, his baseball cap made it into a few frames, along with his sense of humor! He also had a willingness to do whatever weird ideas we came up with, which I always appreciate. The love between them was unmistakable. He was so attentive to her and together, they brought something honest. Raw. Intimate in a way that didn’t have to try.

We kept the setup simple — just like always. Drapey neutral sheers on the wall, a low bed dressed with a simple white sheet & soft light streaming in, and the two of them curled into each other, sometimes seated on the floor, sometimes stretched across the mattress, sometimes just…standing still or sitting on the stool. The kind of stillness that only comes when two people are completely at ease.

Some images needed to be seen in black and white — those quiet moments where stripping away color only added to the depth. Others stayed soft and warm, honoring the natural light and the comfort of two people truly connected.

It felt like exhaling. Not just the session, but the space itself.
This studio has held so many stories. So much laughter. So much light. And this last session — whether it ends up being the last or not — felt like a gentle exhale of all that goodness. A soft goodbye.

If this space meant something to you too — if you’ve ever dreamed of a cozy, connected session within these walls — this is your nudge. If you are near the Annapolis, MD area and reading this before June 29, 2025…you still have time 🙂
But if not, I’ll carry this one in my heart.
xo,
Meredith
